A large Media & Entertainment company; part of a multi billion-dollar multinational Conglomerate having Diversified businesses. The media company was having a subscriber base of 8+ million,350+ channels, present in 35+ key cities and having 3000+ Distributors (LCOs)

challenge

To provide best-in-class customer experience by implementing state-of-the-art next Gen technology solution, the company was planning to go for Digitization of transmission from Cable to thru Satellite across the country.

Objective

Assignment was to evaluate the responded bidders’ Hardware & Software solutions for CAS, Billing & CRM based on RFP responses and other available artifacts, and to rate and recommend suitable bidders objectively. RFP, having approx. value of 125+ Cr ($20+ mn), was issued to 14 vendors (7 for Billing/CRM , 7 for CAS).

Process Adopted/ Solution

  • Analyze & define the Business and Technical requirements for selecting an appropriate product.
  • Define a strategy to evaluate the RFPs.
  • Evaluate the proposed solutions on the RFP responses & other available artifacts
  • Develop an “Evaluation Framework” that captures aspects of Capabilities of Vendor, Technical Solutions & Commercials; provides appropriate weightages and percentiles across each parameter and section, factors in various other tangibles & intangibles
  • Critically analyze the compliance sheets & technical documents provided by Bidders, raise appropriate clarifications (calls, VCs & written) & re-validate.

Outcome/ Results

Rated & recommended bidders objectively using an exhaustive scientific evaluation methodology.
